AARSA Atlanta Chinese Autumn Tennis League — Registration Guidelines

To enrich the cultural and sporting life of the Atlanta Chinese community and to build friendship among tennis lovers, AARSA is holding the Atlanta Chinese Tennis League. Please read the following carefully before registering.

1. League dates & registration deadline

The league is scheduled to run from September 12 to November 15.

The registration deadline is August 31. Whether late registrations are accepted will depend on team formation and lineup arrangements.

2. Format & team formation

This league uses a team-based (group) format.

When registering, you may list three preferred teams based on factors such as your location, partner preferences, and preferred captain.

The final number of teams, the composition of each team, and the captains will be determined by the actual registrations received.

When forming groups, the committee will try to respect players' preferences while also balancing overall team strength, geographic distribution, partner needs, and match-organization logistics.

The preferred teams you list are only a reference for grouping and do not guarantee that the committee can place you on a chosen team.

3. Match lineups

Each team will field multiple doubles lineups, including men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.

The exact number of teams, the number of lineups per match, and the ratio of men's, women's, and mixed doubles will be set based on the number of registrants, the participant mix, and the overall distribution of skill levels.

Captains should arrange their team's players and lineups reasonably, following the rules set by the committee.

4. Regular players & substitutes

Regular players should, in principle, be able to play most of the matches during the league.

If you expect that you cannot commit to the full season — for example due to work, family matters, travel, or other tennis events — or expect your availability to be below 50%, you may register as a “substitute” player.

If you choose substitute status, please clearly indicate it when registering so the committee and captains can account for it in grouping, roster planning, and lineups.

Substitutes play according to their team's attendance and lineup needs; specific playing arrangements are coordinated by the captain under the committee's match rules.

Registering as a substitute does not guarantee a fixed number of matches or a minimum amount of play.

5. Skill-level information

Please provide accurate information about your tennis level, including (but not limited to) your usual rating, league experience, match results, preferred position, and regular partners.

This information is an important basis for the committee to form teams, set lineups, and balance team strength.

If the information you provide differs significantly from your actual level, the committee reserves the right to adjust your team assignment, level, or lineup accordingly.

Providing accurate level information helps keep the competition fair — both across teams and across individual lineups — and improves the experience for everyone.

6. Match scheduling & result reporting

For the group round-robin and the early elimination rounds, the two captains coordinate the specific match time and location.

Each team should find a suitable court and complete its matches within the deadline set by the committee.

Captains should confirm the time, court, players, and lineups in advance, and notify their team members promptly.

After a match, both captains should verify the result and report it promptly as required by the committee.

The semifinals and finals are, in principle, held together at courts provided by the committee; the exact time and location will be announced separately.

7. Safety & liability

Tennis involves physical exertion and a risk of injury. Each participant should decide whether to register and play based on their own health, physical condition, and athletic ability.

Participants should warm up, take protective measures, stay hydrated, and provide their own appropriate sports equipment.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the committee, event organizers, captains, and host facilities are not liable for any accident, physical injury, loss of property, or other harm that occurs before, during, or after matches, or while traveling to and from the venue.

By registering, you acknowledge the potential risks of tennis and voluntarily assume the risks associated with participating.

If you have any health condition that could affect safe participation, please consult a qualified medical professional before registering and competing.

8. Purpose of the league

This league aims to give Atlanta's Chinese tennis enthusiasts a fair, friendly, and well-organized place to compete — to encourage exchange and cooperation among players, meet more like-minded friends, improve together, and enjoy the health and happiness that tennis brings.

By registering, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to follow these guidelines, as well as the match rules and related arrangements the committee publishes later.
